Welcome to the Honeymoon Everyday blog. Here we share our journey of life, love and — especially — travel. For years, I kept a written journal which I look back upon fondly (they line the bookshelves in our room). But after many requests for our itineraries, restaurant recommendations, recipes and general travel tips (shared over and over as Facebook posts and emails), we thought we would share them with you here — and expand those we consider friends.
We are not casual travelers. Lyn is a SEASONED traveler, a paid traveler if you will. He was a senior executive for AAA, the American Automobile Association in which he traveled the world for conferences and leisure. He has traveled to more than 100 countries and worked in the hospitality industry for his career for esteemed brands such as Choice Hotels International, InterContinental Hotels Group, Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Lyn has consulted for resorts in the U.S. and around the world. He arranged VIP client trips over 20 years to Scotland, France, United Kingdom, Spain and many more to experience the great golf courses, wineries and upscale adventures that anyone can imagine from reserving Highclere Castle (Downton Abbey site) to experiencing great wine with some of the world’s most famous celebrities. Most importantly, he has friends developed through years of traveling in nearly every country — friends who share their stories, tips, recipes, recommendations and cautionary notes — which we share with you, our dear reader.
Stacey traveled extensively growing up as a competitive ice skater. Her family pulled a pop-up camper and visited the majority of the 50 states. Stacey’s mother was a teacher with summers off, so every summer they drove cross country stopping for education and fun. As a professional fundraiser, she travels around the country to most of the U.S. major cities getting advice on restaurants, places to see from locals and some of the world’s greatest philanthropists.
Stacey serves as the navigator/navi”guesser”, optimist, calm presence and bargain hunter. She was and is on a tight budget and makes a sport of finding deals, bargains and secret treasures saving you and your family $$$. She never knew the joys of “employee rates” until meeting Lyn and knows that saving money means more to experience.
We hope we inspire you to create your own honeymoon everyday.
